I brang my freightliner in for over heating issues. Without proper diagnostic he immediately told me it was my clutch fan. Spent almost $700 in parts and labor to fix that. I still had a overheating issue. Than he told me to drive without my thermostat and the vehicle should not overheat. Bad advice. Never drive without a thermostat in your vehicle. He could have made me damage my truck. Than he changed two belts. Water pump belt and serpe. Belt. Problem still was there. This mechanic was playing a guessing game. Never took his time to proper diagnose the truck. Only assumed problems and left his shop with same problem to take it somewhere else. 1 star. Bad service. Drinking beer on the job. Unprofessional
I had some recent trouble with my truck and had one of those 'feelings' something might still be off. I went in to Simon based on the Google reviews here. Simon and his guys listened to my truck and were pretty keen to tell me they thought it was in my head and tried pretty hard to dissuade me from spending money to have an engine diagnostic done. For my peace of mind based on the pricing, I asked him to do it anyway. They spent some time going over the diagnostic with me and showing me that the tools agreed with their mechanic ears -- the issue was in my head. I may have paid for peace of mind, but I appreciate the guys being very open and honest with me and trying their best to avoid me spending what might be seen as unnecessary money. I certainly felt better! I will absolutely bring my truck back here if I need any 'real' work done in the future.
